Here in Balkan Review we believe that the one of the true challenges of today is to quickly distinguish matters of real importance in the abundance of easily available information and analysis. Therefore our goal in Balkan Review is not to replicate the existing media content, but to help our readers in selecting the important news, and to provide fast and judicious analysis from the regional and comparative perspective. We are trying to help our readers to minimize the time needed to stay up-to-date with the most important events in the Balkan region, as well as to early identify the important regional and national trends that will shape the Balkans in the future. Likewise, by focusing also on the themes such as culture, sports, history, social activism and life of the major regional urban centres, we strive to get our readers acquainted with the aspects of the Balkans that are rarely in the headlines, although they are in fact often essential for really comprehending the big headlines.
Balkan Review brings daily and weekly selection of the most important news from the Balkans, and analysis of the current events. Balkan Review also publishes reviews of books, academic articles and reports of the international and nongovernmental organisations, as well as timely announcements of public lectures, discussions and other events that Balkan-watchers should not miss. Balkan Review publishes articles in English and Serbian. Balkan Review is written by the members and associates of the Centre for interdisciplinary studies of the Balkans (CISBalk) at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Science.
